EUROMAX - ROUND 4

Coles Racing Driver Alex Quinn has finished his maiden campaign in European Racing 5th Overall in the RGMMC Rotax Euro Challenge Series, in Juniors.

Salbris was the circuit for the final race of the 2014 Rotax Euro Challenge. Alex came into the race P5 in the standings with the possiblity of achieving P4.

After missing some of the testing due to his involvement in the CIK-FIA European Championships with CRG, Alex had to make a fast start to get up to speed in the hot temperatures in France in a bid to get on the same pace as his rivals.

Qualifying came and Alex rose to the challenge, posting the 2nd fastest time in his group, only 0.066s off the fastest time.

With both qualifying groups merged together, Quinn had qualified P3 overall in the classification. His highest of the Euromax season. This meant Alex would start his heats from Pole, 2nd and 2nd respectively.

Alex achieved 4th, 5th and 2nd in his heats, resulting in starting 6th for the penultimate race of the Euromax Season.

In the Pre-Final Alex stormed through to 2nd place, hassling the leader and Champion-Elect Thomas Preining, finishing just 0.030s behind at the flag.

Quinn set the fastest lap of the race, nearly 4 tenths clear of the nearest challenger in the race.

The Grand Final saw Alex start from the outside of the front row.,a decent start saw him maintain position until an incident resulted in Alex being driven over dropped him down the grid with kart damage.

Quinn salvaged 12th place in the end. A disappointing end to a great meeting, however he has scored enough points to maintain 5th Overall in the European Rotax Junior Championship.

In a debut season racing in Europe, 5th was beyond the wildest dreams nine months ago. Coming from Cadets into one of the most hotly contested European Championship in the world!

Everyone at Team Quinn would like to thank all Alex's sponsors and supporters for their contributions to his European campaign. None of this would have been possible without you!

"A massive thank you to the lads at Coles Racing for all the help over this season in Europe. Special mentions to Adrian, Mike, Jamie, Jordan, Olly and my Mum and Dad"

The next meeting will be at Essay, France in a fortnights time, for the CIK-FIA KF Junior World Karting Championship. Alex will be racing for CRG-SPA.

Stay tuned to see how he gets on !
