QUINN ENDS MAIDEN WEEKEND WITH FIFTH
Alex Quinn completed his first weekend of single-seater competition with another excellent performance to end it in eighth place in the standings.
Starting from sixth position, Quinn made a far better getaway from the lights than his previous attempts over the course of the weekend. That enabled him to be on the tail of Arden’s Rafael Martins in fourth by 0.2 seconds.
By that point, the top three of Petru Florescu, Luis Leeds and James Pull were three seconds ahead.
On the penultimate lap, Quinn, in a three-car tussle with Martins ahead, was forced to defend from the charging JHR machine of Sennan Fielding.
Quinn was able to do so up to the flag to round off his weekend with his best overall result, as well as Rookie class victor for the third consecutive race.
Florescu scored victory by less than half a second from Leeds with Pull over six seconds behind. Quinn's Fortec Motorsports team-mate Ross Martin finished 10th.
The second round of the Ford MSA Formula Championship will take place at Donington Park on April 16-17.
