Repeat eighth for Quinn at Brands
Alex Quinn banked an eighth place finish in a stagnant second F4 British Championship race at Brands Hatch GP in Kent.
Having finished the previous day’s opening affair in eighth place, the Racing Steps Foundation-backed driver lined up in the same position for the penultimate race of the season.
Quinn made a solid start, trailing Carlin’s James Pull by less than half a second, but the pair were being held up by Arden’s sixth placed rookie Ayrton Simmons who quickly dropped off the pace of the top five drivers by over two seconds.
With all positions remaining static for the majority of the remainder of the race, Quinn lagged behind Pull by almost two and a half seconds, but was comfortable from any threats from closest challenger and team-mate Nicolai Kjaergaard a further 1.5 seconds behind.
Quinn therefore took the chequered flag a muted eighth, in the knowledge that he will start the final race of the season in 13th position.
